My work in cross-cultural education design was recently acknowledge by two awards. In 2016, I was listed with ‘highly commended’ mention on the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll and in 2017, I was awarded the title of ‘New Australian of the Year. For a migrant, receiving such public acknowledgement is an immense joy and honour – and confirms my desire to develop new, better models to nurture diversity in a range of settings, and build on Australia’s achievements in multiculturalism.
