My work in cross-cultural education design was acknowledged by two major awards. In 2016, I was recognised as a recipient of the Victorian Multicultural Honour Roll and in 2017, I was awarded the title of ‘New Australian of the Year’. For a migrant, receiving such public acknowledgement has been an immense joy and honour – and confirmed my desire to design new learning models that embrace and celebrate the transformative power of cultural diversity.
